The following are the two Temple Micah specific service opportunities hosted by the Edlavitch DCJCC. Please follow the links at the end of each description to volunteer for the specific opportunities.  Please consider becoming a Team Captain. We need 2 Team Captains, one for each site. A Team Captain is a volunteer who takes on a few additional leadership responsibilities for their project site, including communicating relevant information to the volunteer team.  If you wuld like to be a team captain for one of these Temple Micah specific service opportunities, please sign-up via these links as well.

Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home, NW DC, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home is a 164-bed facility. Stoddard’s mission is to deliver professional quality healthcare services to its residents and their families by responding to their spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs. Volunteers will work in teams to deliver gifts and visit with residents in their rooms. The nursing home would also like volunteers to sing some carols – songbooks will be provided! Children under 14 must have adult supervision to volunteer for this project.

St. Mary’s Court, NW DC, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
St. Mary’s Court operates a residential living facility for seniors 62 or older or individuals with accessibility needs. It consists of 140 units in a nine-story high-rise apartment building. The facility uses federal assistance for low and moderate-income households. A secondary purpose of St. Mary’s Court is to provide for community involvement and program activities. It is a community center for persons living in the surrounding neighborhood who are encouraged to participate in the activities of the Court and to involve residents of the Court in outside community activities. Volunteers will visit with residents, sing Christmas carols (songbooks provided), and enjoy treats together. Volunteers must be 12 years old to participate.
