May 14 -June 23
The cycle of poverty, racism, and oppression that gave rise to Dr. King’s 1968 Poor People’s Campaign still plagues our society and demands our attention. The Reform Movement is joining this 40-day campaign that will consist of moral non-violent direct action on Capitol Hill and in 39 state capitals every Monday during May and June, beginning May 14 and culminating in a rally in DC on June 23.
The Campaign will force a serious national examination of the enmeshed evils of systemic racism, systemic poverty, ecological devastation and the war economy. You can find more information and logistics about the Reform Movement’s participation in the Poor People’s Campaign on their website.
