October 19 through October 21

Please join us in honoring National Refugee Shabbat by donating new or gently used coats, mittens, gloves, and scarves. We are supporting the winter clothing drive organized by our resettlement agency partner, Lutheran Social Services.  LSS needs to provide warm clothing to 100 refugee families, and Sukkat Shalom has committed to supplying clothes for at least 25 of these families. These items will be distributed to all the refugee families who have arrived in the National Capital area in the past year, including the Afghan family that Temple Micah has been supporting.

You can help by donating gently used or new coats, mittens, gloves, hats and scarves of all sizes, for children and adults (especially smaller adult sizes). Please bring your new or gently used, items to Micah during National Refugee Shabbat weekend, October 19 through 21. Please make sure that used items have been cleaned. You can also drop off your donations on Sunday (10/22) during Machon Micah.

Questions? Contact Robin Shaffert. Thanks for your ongoing support of Sukkat Shalom!
