American Atonement for Racism: A Communal Vidui

We are honored to welcome Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr., professor of African American Studies of Princeton University, as our very special guest speaker. Dr. Glaude will be in conversation with Micah member, Professor Gayle Wald on our Day of Atonement to address what American Atonement demands as our country confronts our racist past. Following Dr. Glaude and Dr. Wald’s discussion, we will contemplate  atonement for American racism and say a communal Vidui. Rabbi Daniel Zemel will provide opening and closing remarks.

In preparation for attending this discussion, please join us in reading Dr. Glaude’s newest book, Begin Again: James Baldwin’s America and Its Urgent Lessons for Our Own. You can find this and other books by Dr. Glaude at your favorite local bookstore, i.e. Loyalty Bookstores or Sankofa Books.
